Advertise your products beyond eBay

When you are selling products on your eBay store, the more people who are able to see the products you have for sale, the more likely they are going to be sold.

eBay sellers can have their products appear on Google product search results, allowing you to open up your online store to a whole new customer base, who don't necessarily use eBay on a regular basis. However, to do this you must have a number of clear identifiers on each of your products for Google to list them. Depending on what type of products your online store sells, the identifiers you have to use will differ.

If you run a store that is categorised as either: Home & Garden, Toys & Hobbies, Sporting Goods, Business & Industrial, Babies or Electronics, you must have two of these identifiers labelled on your products:

  • Manufacturer Part Number
  • Global Trade Item Number
  • Brand

When running a clothing or accessory store, your items are going to have many more variables than some of the categories which were earlier listed. For this reason, to list your products on Google, you must have all of the following identifiers labelled on your products:

  • Brand
  • Gender
  • Age Group
  • Size
  • Colour

If your products do not meet the total number of identifiers required, based on what type of products you sell, your products will not appear on Google search results.

With the majority of people using Google as their primary search engine to look for various products, having your items appear on this platform will substantially increase not only the number of people who can see your products, but also, traffic to your store and the eventual sales that your business will achieve.

Carrying out these tasks to have your products appear in Google search results should be a no brainer. The clear benefits it provides make it a great platform to advertise your products on. Not only that, your competitors will also see the great benefits advertising on Google can provide. For this reason you must make sure you list your products on this search engine to, at the very least, ensure your rivals do not move ahead of your online store by having a large audience base to advertise their products to.
